This apartment had great bones but was devoid of ambience or personality. The brief was to create a space where the client, a busy Wall Street Analyist, could comfortably work, entertain and relax. The client’s favourite colour was blue so the grey walls that he’d lived with for 10 years were repainted in Farrow and Ball ‘Drawing Room’ blue creating a stunning contrast to the built-in display shelving and room trims. Contemporary and vintage furniture and lighting were sourced on 1st Dibs and Trade showrooms such as the Ralph Lauren French Walnut Oak Trestle desk which doubles as a Dining table. Several Items found on Ebay and reupholstered such the French Mouton chair in goat hide and a pair of Mid-C lounge chairs in duck-egg blue wool. Curated new artwork encasing the room includes the quirky The King sourced at the Southampton Art Fair and several abstracts were painted on commission including the Tribute to Basquiat. Floor rugs were added to designate areas and anchor strategically placed furniture to create this multi-function space.
