HAMPTONS STYLE REFURBMISHMENT OF COUNTRY COTTAGE FOR EVENT ACCOMMODATION

Client brief:  Following interior walls prep and some structural refurbishment provide overall design, fabrics and colour scheme for all hard and soft surfaces.  Select all furnishings  and decorate entire residence to ultimately provide a  cosy, comfortable and child-friendly no-fuss weekend family getaway or special event accommodation.  

Approach:  Combine the clean lines of the Hamptons look using perennial blues and natural linens instead of white on white, considering the family also included young children.   Cantilevered ceiling beams were painted out in same white as walls.    Two feature walls were painted in Dulux 'Midnight blue'.  Chairs were reupholstered rather than replaced. All new ceiling and wall light fittings selected and installed.  The blue and and white colour scheme made use of patterned and striped fabrics rather than block colours.  Two aged brown leather chesterfield sofas add a touch of lived in formality softened with decorative cushions and throws. All 3 bedrooms feature custom-designed fully uphosltered bedheads and curtains continuing the colour scheme with the exception of red on linen toile de jouy used for the girls bedroom and the balcony bedrooms.
